Paul Montgomery Studio™'s Antiquities Collection includes 11 different designs, each depicting either allegorical or historical scenes dating from as far back as the Tang and Qing dynasty (1200-1900 BC). They are painted in a special technique which creates a feeling of antique quality and beauty. The designs are well known around the world and can still be seen in museums in China and elsewhere. The designs include scenes of village life and ceremonial settings populated with detailed figures, while others depict beautiful and serene landscapes. Click here to view the collection.

Paul Montgomery Studio™'s artists have re-designed some of these scenes and captured not only a wonderful decorative effect but have retained the centuries-old Chinese cultural and artistic aspects of the original work. Our artists use the same traditional Chinese painting skills used for thousands of years to hand paint each design with precision to maintain the original art form and style. Each design of Antiquities Collection has at least 10 continuous panels with no design repetition.

Paper Content

Antiquities Collection is painted on either our 100% silk which has been specially made for this type of Chinese painting, or on 100% cotton fabric. Both grounds are then paperbacked with rice paper for durability and ease of hanging.

Custom Coloring

Our ground colors come in 17 standard colorways. Antiquities Collection is painted on antiqued grounds that are appropriate for the design, but customers may also select from any of our standard 17 colors. Individual aspects of the design coloration may be altered to customer requirements based on customer supplied references, paint chips, fabrics, etc. Click here to open a pop-up window of color swatches.

Custom Sizes

Paul Montgomery Studio™'s standard sizes are available for Antiquities Collection. Client may also choose custom sizes such as 6 feet of design on a 7 feet high panel, etc. Also, we will gladly work from client supplied elevation drawings to design murals which avoid windows and doors, and will custom design the panels to fit almost any space. Although there is an up-charge for custom designed panels, the cost is always worth the effort, as it creates a concise design suited specifically for it's own environment. Our regular size panels are also effective trimmed at doors and windows, however.

Antique Finish

The Antiquities Collection is specially designed to show a rich antiqued finish. When the paper is painted, it has been antiqued with Paul Montgomery Studio™'s special antiquing process. Clients may also order panels that are not antiqued, or antiqued slightly or more heavily. Sample strike off for approval (at additional cost, please enquire) is suggested for special orders before actual full order is produced to insure customer satisfaction.

Custom Design

All of the Antiquities Collection designs can be altered to meet client needs and to create truly unique designs for the customer. Our talented artists are quite capable of working from client supplied information, photos, fabrics, colors, etc. to provide a one-of-a-kind art masterpiece.

Delivery

We require approximately 8-10 weeks for regular order production. We request up to 15 weeks for custom orders. Rush orders may be requested for an up-charge, please enquire.

We require a 50% deposit to initiate order, with the balance payment due prior to shipping. Shipping costs are additional.
